The first time I saw a chiropractor I was eight.
My parents came to see me in the "Gym Show" at my elementary school in
Copiague, NY and noticed my shoulders were not level as I stood and
wondered if I had scoliosis. They brought me to Dr. Gerald Bertuch and he started treating me with chiropractic
adjustments.
As a child my mother was in wheelchair for over a year with a
degenerative joint problem and had also seen Dr. Bertuch. He took her
"under his wing" and helped her immensely. As a young child, It felt like
he gave me my mommy back.
When I was in elementary school all I wanted to do was be a
chiropractor. I had such a great experience with it. As I grew older
and had to decide what I would do with my life, on one occasion my
father said, "You could be anything you want to be, you could
even be like Doc." That pretty much sealed it for me.
During and after chiropractic college Dr. Scott lived with his wife in
midtown Manhattan and he worked on dancers initially. That is where his
education really started. And he has been learning ever since.
After thirteen years of practicing diversified chiropractic, Dr. Scott
came upon a patient that needed more then he could offer. He started to
learn another technique called Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Technique
as it was the only technique that helped. After experiencing this
technique for himself he had to learn more about it so he could share
it with his patients.
Thank you to Dr.'s Roy and Matt Sweat for their tireless efforts to
continually advance this great technique for the benefit of all, and a special thank you to
Dr. Bertuch and my Dad for pointing me in the right direction.
